The Councillor's Youth Award

We are thrilled to announce that our recent production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr. has been honoured with the Councillor's Youth Award, NODA North East Region!

This prestigious award is presented to a society whose performance left a lasting impression on the Councillor. It's not just about being the best show but rather about the overall production that made the Councillor think, "Wow - that was good theatre." It's an accolade given to a production that isn’t quickly forgotten and one that overcame various challenges, either during rehearsals or the show itself.

The Geoff Whitfield Salver, specifically for youth productions, recognizes outstanding talent and dedication. Our young stars, aged 8-18, not only rose to the occasion but shone brilliantly in both principal roles and the chorus. The councillor, Les Smith, noted the exceptional talent on display, proving that age is no barrier to delivering a powerful and memorable performance.
